About Ummul Qura Schools

Our story

Building Futures Since 1996

Ummul Qura Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools was founded in 1996 with a clear vision: to create an institution that provides world-class education rooted in Islamic values. What began as a humble initiative has grown into one of the most respected Islamic educational institutions in Southwestern Nigeria.

Our establishment was made possible through the generous support of the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO), with land donated by the late Shaikh Murtadho AbdulSalam, a visionary scholar whose legacy continues to transform lives through education.

The Founder

A distinguished Islamic scholar and visionary leader, Alhaji Ahmad Tiamiyu Olawale holds degrees in Shariah Law from both the University of Al-Madinah and Ummul Qura University in Saudi Arabia.

Currently serving as the Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of Oyo State, he brings decades of experience in Islamic jurisprudence, education, and community leadership.

As one of the pioneers of Jamaatul Thadhamul Muslim, where he served as Amir for two terms, his dedication to educational excellence and community development led to the establishment of Ummul Qura Schools.

His vision was clear: create an institution that not only imparts academic excellence but also nurtures moral integrity, Islamic values, and social responsibility in every student.
